EBacc

These are the subjects which make up the EBacc (English Baccalaureate). The EBacc is a set of subjects at GCSE that keeps young people’s options open for further study and future careers

Computer Science

  • Computer Science Details
    This course explores how computers work and what makes them tick. It is for logical thinkers who enjoy problem solving.

Geography

  • Geography Details
    Pupils will go on several fieldtrips during the course. However, unlike in previous years there is no coursework or controlled assessment. Pupils will be assessed on their geographical skills in an exam.

History

  • History Details
    Degree in Medieval /Early Modern /Modern History or Classical Civilisation, Archaeology, Law, Politics, Philosophy. Apprenticeships for town planner.

Modern Foreign Languages

  • Modern Foreign Langauges Details
    A Foreign Language will improve pupils’ chances in the European and world wide job market of the 21st century. A foreign language is a requirement of the English Baccalaureate. Most universities expect pupils to have some knowledge of a modern foreign language.
