Art & Design
- Art & Design Details
This is a broad course exploring a range of 2D and 3D processes and new media technologies. Pupils must work in a range of different media using art, craft and design materials. The course is very structured in Year 10, with pupils developing more independence into Year 11.
Business
- Business Details
This course investigates how Business works and the environment within which Business operates. The final examination will be two papers in the summer of 2022, consisting of calculations, multiple-choice, short-answer and extended-writing which combined is worth 100% of the GCSE.
Catering

This qualification is designed for learners with an interest in food and cookery. It will provide learners with experience of using different cooking techniques and methods to enable them to use these within further education or apprenticeships. It will provide a basic understanding of the skills required for a career in food.
Design & Technology

Pupils will learn about a range of materials, manufacturing processes, techniques and technologies and will be able to use them as appropriate to the design and make process. The main project is based on a brief supplied by the exam board. This is carried out under conditions of controlled assessment and represents around 40 hours of work.

Music
- Music Details
GCSE Music is designed to foster a greater understanding of music through listening, appraising, performing and composing. The course embraces a wide range of musical styles including classical, rock pop, jazz, film and world music.
Previous experience of playing a musical instrument, or of singing, is an advantage, and having regular instrumental lessons is beneficial.
Performing Arts

Pupils will have had experience of drama during Key Stage 3 in Drama and English lessons. They may also be a member of a drama club. Pupils will learn many other skills highly valued in every walk of life: teamwork and confidence in presenting in public.
PE
- PE Details
The Edexcel BTEC Level 2 First Award in Sport is a 120-guided-learning-hour qualification that consists of three mandatory units plus an additional specialist units. The additional unit is chosen by the teaching staff to suit the group.
